About Path of the Gods Hike

Path of the Gods Hike is an independent guide to hiking the Sentiero degli Dei on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. I review the best guided-hike tours so you can book the right one, and I answer the practical questions people ask before they walk.

Who I am

I’m Marco Esposito. I grew up in Praiano on the Amalfi Coast and have walked the Path of the Gods more times than I can count — in every season, with family, with visiting friends who arrived in the wrong shoes. I know the bus timetables are unreliable, which end to start from, and which places have no railings. I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t by living here, not by reading about it.

What this site does

The Path of the Gods is free to hike. You don’t need a guide or a tour. What you do need is information. This site answers the honest questions: how hard is it really, which way do you walk it, do you actually need a guide, and when is a paid tour worth it anyway. Then I review the best guided options on GetYourGuide so you can make an informed choice.

How I’m funded

I earn a small affiliate commission when you book a tour through my links on this site, at no extra cost to you. That’s what keeps this guide free. It never changes which tours I recommend — I recommend tours based on ratings, reviews, and what I think suits each traveller, not on commission. Read the affiliate disclosure for the full picture.
